The New Bohemian

Janis Joplin

In the sixties, the term "bohemian" referred to the subculture, the alternative. Not so anymore; it has become so popular that in 2001, David Brooks coined the term Bobos, referring to the affluent bohemian.  Stores like Anthropologie, Pier One, and Cost Plus invite us to explore our inner-hippie chic in the summer of love, love, love.
